HelpOut is a mobile app designed to facilitate charitable donations of time in a person's local community. Volunteers are able to find charities that most closely align to their interest and schedules, reducing the chance of frustration or boredom. HelpOut also allows charities to broadcast their needs to a larger audience who are actively seeking the chance to work with them. The app helps volunteers keep track of what they have done in the past, what charities their friends have worked with, and stay more up-to-date on what their favorite charities are doing. Many platforms have emerged for donating money to causes, but we believe that donating time is necessary to empathize with the issues many people face in the country.
